Good Things to Learn from Kerala

Kerala is an amazing state. Though industries and multi national companies are not many in Kerala, as a state it has got somethings good going that we can learn from.

The people are very clean. You see freshness every morning when you see them.
The Roads are clean and well maintained. People have higher civic sense compared to many places in India. Hats off to them.

The whole state has pious people in general. I say this having traveled from southern tip up to Guruvayur in North this time crossing all small places by road and stopping everywhere. People are pious and God fearing.

Wherever you go and eat, you are not slapped with bottled water. Every place serves only hot water which is a sign of hygiene.

Western influence is there in Cochi being a commercial city. But places like Alapuzha, Guruvayur, Chengannur and other rural towns still have traditional Kerala Culture which is pleasant to see.

Let us learn some of the good things from Kerala.

India trips are always exciting. Came down to India in September to attend Kaushik's wedding and after so many years my sister, my brother and I had wonderful temple visits.

Now here I am with my parents to attend my best friend Anian's Daughter Gayatri's wedding in Trivendrum followed by temple visits in Kerala.

In order to keep all travel related things in one place I have another blog called yatrawithsri.blogspot.com Enjoy reading.

Creativity is embedded in classical literature too!

One of the Pravarcharkas on Andal's work - Natchiyar Thirumozhi jokingly was saying this.

Andal wrote 143 pasurams in Nachiyar Thirumozhi explaining her love towards God. The Pravarchaka was telling that best way to remember the number of verses is to remember the message of Andal to God - I Love You.  Number of letters in each word makes the total number of pasurams. !

Music is from within

What a splendid performance by Soorya Gayatri trained by none other than Sri Kuldeep Pai. Devotion is from within. Standing example of soulful singing. Anything done with heart and soul into it will shine. Remembered reading the book cover to cover "Pour Your Heart into it" by  Howard Schultz.

Talent can be anywhere. Soorya Gayatri is not from Chennai. Kuldeep Pai was not known in Carnatic Circle in Chennai. They are emerging now in main stream.

Remember now the writeup by Kannadasan "ச ந்தடி இல்லாதநிலத்தில் சற்று தள்ளி நின்று பயிர் செய்தால் விளைச்சல் நன்றாகவே இருக்கும்."

Handmade Art - Thomas Kinkade of Eastern World!!!

Visited a great art showroom during my trip to India in Feb 2017. This is done only in one specific village in Orissa, India. Raghurajpur is housing this very special and unique hand made art technology in three layers of clothes, palm leaves and more.

It is called PattaChitra - Award winning of India. Rare find.

The abov art is done in Palm leaves.

The above art is the original art piece which takes above a month to finish.

Tasks tied to Purpose are easily achievable

Every day we do so many tasks and set several goals on tasks. But I realized that it is the Purpose that we need to plan for and tie tasks to those specific purposes.

I always used to wonder and plan to learn to do amateur film production techniques. Never got a chance to so because that task was never tied to a purpose.

When Sriram asked me to produce album with his English songs, near production quality song video singles came out of my hard work within 6 hours from scratch. Bingo! task tied to purpose got accomplished fast.

Dots will get connected. You will get support

Saptami Foundation.

A concert which was created back in 2010 to promote art and culture among children and youth in the field of classical dance and music grew to seven different centers across US now and the First National event just got over past weekend.

A concept started in a small scale grew bigger and bigger each year. This was possible only because there are several volunteers who have similar interests and was looking for ways to do this and got connected when it came in front of them.

Have you goal clear. Dots will get connected. You will get the support.
